Day 11 in Taiwan

Hotspring in Tai-an

We went up to the mountain for the hotspring hotel in Tai-an... The nearest train station from Tai-an its Miaoli Station... The transportation to Tai-an is not very convenient... Either we can rent a car or book a cab, in order to goes up to the mountain...

Tai-an Hot Spring was founded by the Japanese during the Japanese occupation... It was first called Takeshima Hot Spring and Hu Moutain (Hushan) Hot Spring after the World War II... In 1978, their late president Chiang Chin-Kuo visited the hot spring and renamed it as Tai-an...

Tai-an Hot Spring is known to be colourless and odorless but I find that it does have some "drainage" smell... It was known that the hot spring have the effect for moisturizing the skin...

2013 Day 10 in Taiwan (Miaoli)

Day 10 in Taiwan

A day in Miaoli

We left Alishan and went to Miaoli via Train... To me, Miaoli is a very localized place which I don't see any tourist when we were here... The pace in Miaoli is very slow... It does not seems to have too much places of interest in the area... We visited the "Train Museum" which have displayed a lot of trains that they used in Taiwan... We are heading up to the mountain for the hot springs... Before heading up, we spent a night in the town...
