Day 8 in Taiwan
As the trains are currently down due to typhoon. The only public transport to Alishan is either by cab or bus. There are bus services from Chiayi to Alishan which leave roughly hourly and it will take around 2 hours ride and it cost NT221 per trip. The last bus from Chiayi to Alishan is at 2pm. By taking a cab from Chiayi to Alishan, it will cost roughly NT1600. I get myself ready with motion sickness pills and the journey is really long.
The last bus from Alishan to Chiayi will be at 5.10pm and the bus will leave from the 7-11 store, across the tourist information centre. Tickets are sold inside 7-11.
There are a couple of attractions in Alishan... It is just nice for us to stay there for 2D1N... On the first day, we took a train heading to the Sacred Tree Station (神木车站) and took the Giant Trees Trail and saw lots of very old trees... One of the scenic is called Two Sisters Pond (姐妹潭)... The "Elder Sister Pond, which is the larger in size compared to the other one... The water seems a little stagnant to me though... =x We went to the toilet near the Shou Zhen Temple (受镇宫)... That is a temple which is quite prominent...
